Minister Applauds TGSRTC Staff for Extraordinary Assistance Hyderabad, 10th July 2023: The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) staff has been hailed for their remarkable assistance in delivering a baby at the RTC Bus Station premises in Hyderabad. Expressing his appreciation, Telangana’s Minister of Transport, Mr. Puvvada Ajay Kumar, congratulated the staff for their swift and compassionate actions. “I am deeply impressed by the exemplary work of our TGSRTC employees, who went above and beyond their duties to provide critical support to a woman in labor,” the Minister said. The incident occurred on the morning of July 9th, when a pregnant woman, Ms. Lakshmi, suddenly went into labor at the bus station. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, TGSRTC staff sprang into action. Ms. Manjula, a nursing supervisor, provided immediate medical assistance to Ms. Lakshmi. With the help of other staff members, including Ms. Aruna, Ms. Tulasi, and Mr. Prakash, they created a makeshift birthing area in the lounge and delivered the baby safely. “Our staff’s quick thinking and professionalism in such a stressful situation is truly commendable,” said TGSRTC Chairman and Managing Director, Mr. V.C. Minister’s Appreciation Minister of Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the staff. He presented them with a scarf and Rs. 5,000 each as a gesture of gratitude. The staff included outsourcing personnel Saidamma, Renuka, Bhavani, and Lavanya, as well as station manager N Anjaiah. Account of the Incident On June 16, 2024, a woman on her way to Kunta-Badrachalam went into labor. Her husband sought help from RTC officials, who alerted the sweepers and women attendants. Under the shade of a tree, the attendants assisted the woman in delivering the baby with the help of clothes and alerted the 108 ambulance service. After the birth, the mother and baby were taken to the government headquarters hospital for further treatment. Hospital Update Hospital authorities stated that the mother and baby were in good health and would be discharged soon as it was a normal delivery. Appreciation for RTC’s Response Hospital officials commended the RTC authorities for their quick response, which ensured the safe delivery of a mother from Madhya Pradesh who was traveling to Badrachalam.The Minister of Transport has congratulated the TGSRTC staff for assisting in the delivery of a woman at the RTC Bus Station premises.
