Three dogs rescued from house fire in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, FL – Marion County firefighters rescued three dogs from a house fire Friday night near Ocala, according to the fire department.

Crews arrived just after 11 p.m. at Banyan Track, where a 911 caller reported a fire in her yard and porch and added that several dogs were trapped inside the building.

According to the Marion County Fire Department on social media, firefighters noticed smoke coming from the roof of the house. With help on the way from at least three other stations, the first units to arrive on the scene – Rolling Greens Station No. 28 – fanned out to immediately deploy hose, inspect the home and search the structure, the post states.

According to the fire department, an aggressive attack of fire from the inside combined with vertical ventilation through the roof of the house to alleviate smoke in the rooms.

According to the post office, the fire was extinguished at 11:34 p.m. and two searches of the house were conducted. In total, three dogs were found and taken outside.

According to the fire department, no injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians, and an investigation into the origin of the fire remains ongoing. The American Red Cross was reportedly called to help the homeowner and her animals.
