When he debuted Citadelstarring Richard Madden, Amazon has been making a lot of noise about how it is investing in multiple series to expand its new spy universe. Since then, he’s put his money where his mouth is, and Citadel: Diana is now streaming on Prime Video as the first expansion.
Continuing with this Italian-language series, Amazon has now released the full trailer for the next one Citadel subseries – Honey Bunnywhich brings the drama to India for the first time. The trailer clearly shows that this may be a slightly more lighthearted approach to international espionage intrigue.

Diana may have achieved quite impressive results, with a score of 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, but the story of undercover work and agents on ice is a bit more serious and full of gravitas. Judging by the appearance of things, Honey Bunny won’t have the same approach.
Varun Dhawan will play Honey, a struggling stuntman who needs help with a bigger task than usual. He recruits Bunny, played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu – who looks like she might have a past when it comes to shooting henchmen and infiltrating secure bases.

It appears that the main plot will center around a surveillance network that could make privacy a thing of the past on a global scale, and that’s exactly the plan Citadel aims to thwart. We’re sure to get plenty of action scenes along the way.
They seem to include hand-to-hand combat, gunfights, and car chases, which is quite a checklist for any aspiring spy series. There’s also a smart child actor on duty that we might be a little less thrilled with.
The show arrives on November 7 for Prime subscribers, so it’s less than a month away, but it’ll be fascinating to see how the Citadel universe fares when it does launch. Diana AND Honey Bunny have been around for a while now, but Amazon’s plans for the property once streaming begins aren’t as clear. For now, nothing is known about the second season of the main series.
Striving to be the best streaming service on the market sometimes means backing out on expensive bets, so we’ll see if Amazon sticks to its guns where it Citadel he is concerned.
