Prime Minister Modi in Russia: Cheers as Indian community welcomes him at BRICS Summit in 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kazan, Russia, to attend the BRICS Summit 2024. He is expected to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin soon. The agenda also includes a possible meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. This comes at a significant juncture when the long-running border dispute between India and China over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has been resolved. Both countries agreed to withdraw their troops from the Ladakh region. China has confirmed that the dispute is over, marking a major development in relations between the two nations. The summit is expected to hold discussions on strengthening ties between the BRICS countries, with particular emphasis on global cooperation and security.
