The arrest was part of an anti-drug operation conducted under the guidance of Kochi City Deputy Commissioner KS Sudarshan. The team consisted of Mattancherry Assistant Commissioner Manoj KR, Inspector Prashanth Kumar K, Sub-Inspector Abdul Hakim, and Civil Police Officers Augustin, Saji, Asad, and Viji. Autorickshaw Drivers Receive Safety Awareness Meanwhile, the Muvattupuzha Janamaithri police organized an evening class on monsoon safety for autorickshaw drivers, particularly those working at night. The session, held at the KSRTC stand, aimed to educate drivers about crime prevention and safety precautions. Inspector BK Arun emphasized the role of autorickshaw drivers in reducing crime in Muvattupuzha and combating anti-social elements. Kochi: The city police on Saturday arrested a 33-year-old man with MDMA from Fort Kochi. The arrested person has been identified as Shuhaib of Kalvathy, Fort Kochi. Acting on a tip-off, the suspect’s house in Fort Kochi was raided after 10 pm and 6.01 grams of MDMA, intended for sale, was seized, police said. The suspect was brought before the court and remanded in custody. According to police, the seized drugs were meant for sale to youth in Kochi. The suspect was arrested during a combing operation held as part of anti-drug activities led by Mattancherry Assistant Commissioner Manoj KR as per the instructions of Kochi City Deputy Commissioner KS Sudarshan. Inspector Prashanth Kumar K, Sub-Inspector Abdul Hakim, Senior Civil Police Officer Augustin and Civil Police Officers Saji, Asad and Viji were part of the team.Awareness Session for Autorickshaw Drivers Held: The Muvattupuzha Janamaithri police on Saturday organized an evening class on monsoon safety for autorickshaw drivers, especially those who operate at night, at the KSRTC stand where most of the autorickshaw workers are in Muvattupuzha. An awareness course was conducted as part of the effort to arrest thieves who become more active during the monsoon season. Drivers were advised to inform police if they notice the presence of anti-social elements, and to alert police if called to suspicious locations or situations that could pose a danger. Inspector BK Arun stated that autorickshaw drivers can play a crucial role in reducing crime in Muvattupuzha and ridding it of nuisance from anti-social elements and thieves.
