Director of primary education Ashish Kohli stated that the teachers have been identified and notices will be served seeking explanations for the poor outcomes. The notices will ask the teachers to provide reasons behind the unsatisfactory results, taking into account their tenure in the school and any staff shortages. Kohli further stated that provisions exist for issuing notices and withholding increments for unsatisfactory performance. He emphasized that teachers with a tenure of nine months or more in a particular school will be held accountable for the poor results. The department will soon hire 1,122 Junior Basic Training (JBT) teachers and 1,027 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) teachers. These new recruits will receive 15 days of induction training to familiarize them with the syllabus and teaching methodologies. Kohli acknowledged that reasons for the poor results include teacher shortages, lack of supervision, and the practice of automatic promotion up to Grade 8. However, he stressed that teachers are expected to take responsibility for improving student outcomes. The notices issued by the education department aim to ensure accountability and drive efforts to enhance educational quality in the state.

“There is a provision for issuing notices and stopping the increments and in the first phase, the Education Directorate and the Deputy Directors are issuing notices seeking explanations for the poor results given to teachers in schools where the pass percentage is less than 25 percent,” says Kholi. said.
“A teacher’s tenure in a particular school and staff shortage would be taken into account, but if a teacher has spent a period of nine months in a particular school, then they would have to explain the reason behind the poor result,” he said .
“Batch wise recruitment of 1,122 Junior Basic Training (JBT) and 1,027 Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) would take place soon and we are planning 15 days of induction training for them conducted at various District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) to familiarize the new recruits with the syllabus ,” Kohli added.
He said it has been found that majority of teachers who are being recruited in batches are working elsewhere and are not teaching regularly and have lost connection with the studies. That is why the Minister of Education has ordered them to receive introductory training.
However, shortage of teachers, lack of proper supervision and the ability to promote every student up to Grade 8 are some of the reasons behind the poor results, the official said.
