The demand was made during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Shehryar Gul Memon. The traders, represented by Munir Ahmad Khokhar, Kamran Qayyum Qureshi, and Ghulam Murtaza Samu, complained that the outages had intensified with the onset of summer, making it difficult for businesses to operate. Deputy Commissioner Memon assured the traders that he would write to HESCO officials to demand an end to the unannounced outages. He also instructed HESCO to complete repair work on BIUT’s express feeder within 24 hours and to extend the duration of power supply after repairs are completed to alleviate the heat. The traders expressed gratitude for the deputy commissioner’s support and expressed hope that the HESCO government would heed their demands.
HYDERABAD – Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon and representatives of Nawabshah Traders Union Munir Ahmad Khokhar, Kamran Qayyum Qureshi, Ghulam Murtaza Samu and others today met at Darbar Hall of DC office over the unannounced discharge of electricity in the city of Nawabshah. They demanded from the Deputy Commissioner that the HESCO government should immediately be required to put an end to the unannounced electricity shutdown in the city within the next 24 hours. Otherwise, all the city’s business centers will be closed indefinitely as a protest on behalf of the Urban Union, which will be under the responsibility of the HESCO administration. Deputy Commissioner assured the representatives of the Urban Union and said that a letter will be written on behalf of the district administration to the higher officials of HESCO to put an end to the unannounced discharge of electricity in the city. This is happening in the areas while the intensity of heat has also increased for several days. Therefore, within the next 24 hours, unannounced power load shedding should be eliminated from the city and a load shedding schedule should be prepared and electricity supplied as per the schedule, he said.
He further said that BIUT’s express feeder works should also be completed in the next 24 hours while in case of any fault, the electricity should be switched off and then the duration of the electricity should be extended after the electricity is activated so that the citizens can cope with this intense heat.
On this occasion, the representatives of Tajer Ittihad expressed their gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner and hoped that the unannounced discharge of electricity by the HESCO government would be ended.
