The Edmonton Stingers came to the Langley Events Centre with a perfect 5-0 away record, as the Vancouver Bandits looked to extend their impeccable 6-0 home record when the top two teams in the Canadian Elite Basketball League faced off on Saturday, June 30.

Ultimately, it was the visitors who continued their winning streak away from home with a 107-88 victory in front of a sold-out stadium of 4,538 fans as the Bandits celebrated their Filipino Heritage Game.

The result is that both teams now have an identical score of 8-3.

Vancouver coach and general manager Kyle Julius described it as the “Vancouver Bandits beating the Vancouver Bandits.”

“We missed a lot of good looks. I thought the first half was one of the most open three-pointers we’ve had this year, honestly. We just didn’t make it,” Julius said.
