New opening credits show the death of Prince Jaehaerys
The opening credits for the final two episodes chronicled the history of House Targaryen from Valyria to the coronation of Aegon II. Episode three adds a striking new image in the form of Prince Jaehaerys with his throat slit. The gruesome scene is depicted by a gold chain passing over Prince Jaehaerys, who lies with his eyes closed.
The gold chain then extends further and becomes the line on which several Pied Pipers are hung. This represents Aegon II’s response to his son’s death by hanging all the Pied Pipers in his employ.
