Role: Deputy Manager (Fundraising & Partnerships)

Job responsibilities:

  • BYLC’s strategies and project goals, policies, plans and guidelines are properly maintained.
  • Support in improving and establishing strategies for organizational and institutional development, growth and sustainability.
  • Initiatives to enhance BYLC’s image and leadership role at national and international levels.
  • Adhere to the regulations of the institution and program, and to the laws and regulations of the country.
  • Promote and practice the BYLC values ​​(integrity, respect for others, empathy, excellence in everything we do, continuous development and adaptive leadership) at all times.
  • Ensures the protection and preservation of the life and dignity of all BYLC employees, as well as their assets and property.
  • Identify and track fundraising opportunities, e.g. calls for proposals (CFP/RFP) and request for submission of EOI to various bilateral, multilateral and other donor organizations.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration through networking, advocacy and policy work.
  • Build relationships with potential funding partners and work with them to develop project proposals and budgets, drawing on the expertise of the entire organization as needed.
  • Manage team members, provide technical support, and oversee day-to-day operations.
  • Develop strategies for successful engagement with donors and key stakeholders, including the public and private sectors.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or senior management team.
  • Manage and ensure various team member capacity building initiatives.
  • Maintain functional relationships with local government, community residents, other partner organizations, local stakeholders and beneficiaries and other relevant stakeholders for the smooth running of the project.
  • Build a strong network with other youth organizations, NGOs, government agencies, the private sector and relevant stakeholders to advocate for promotional events and engagement with private sector agencies.
  • Assist in conducting a gender-responsive assessment by following the organization’s policy on child protection, gender policy and prevention of sexual harassment and other relevant guidelines and disseminate the report to the competent authority to address the issue.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration or Communications is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years.
  • Professional qualification: Demonstrable experience in fundraising and partnership development.
  • Fundraising and resource mobilization skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ICT skills, demonstrable numerical and budgetary skills, including preparation of fundraising budgets, and proficient use of Excel and spreadsheets.
  • Flexible and creative with problem-solving skills.
