What are the rules?
According to the rules of Copa America 2024, all knockout matches will not have extra time. Should a match end in a draw, the match will go straight to penalty kicks, where the winner will be determined.
This rule will be applied to all quarter-finals, semi-finals and the third place match. However, this will not be the case in the Copa America final.
With the exception of the final, the Copa America knockout matches will not feature extra time. If the score is tied after 90 minutes, they will go straight to penalties.

In the final, the normal rules are allowed. If the final ends in a draw after 90 minutes, there will be 30 minutes of extra time. Each half of extra time lasts 15 minutes with a short break. Furthermore, there is no golden goal, i.e. the match does not stop if a team scores in extra time.
If the match remains tied, penalty kicks will be taken.
