With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Beverly ‘Jo’ Schultz on June 8, 2024. After a courageous six-year battle with breast cancer, Jo passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was reunited with her beloved husband Thomas (2012). Jo is lovingly remembered by her children: Erik (Brenda), Ross, Dave (Sheryl), Emily (Brian Davis), and grandchildren: Jobi Schultz, Charlie Schultz, and Henry Davis. She was a devoted sister to Carol Maxwell and the late Bob Brown (2005). Jo’s passion for music was evident throughout her life. She sang in the Michigan Chorale and the Kent Glee Club, and later in Sacred Harp choirs across Canada and the US. She also enjoyed gardening and was an active member of the Wallaceburg Horticultural Society. Born in Saline, Michigan, Jo earned her bachelor’s degree from Alma College and her master’s degree in English from the University of Michigan. She settled in Wallaceburg in 1970 and worked as an administrator for St. Clair College until her retirement. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home in Wallaceburg.
