Federal Minister of State for Health Nadeem Mahbub visited the ongoing project and urged the team to expedite the work to meet the deadline. He also inspected the newly built modular operating theater, which will soon be operational, and expressed satisfaction with its modern amenities. During his visit, Mahbub also assessed the progress of the children’s hospital and the Mother and Child Hospital, which is being built in collaboration with JICA. He emphasized the need for improved healthcare facilities and directed the PIMS director to ensure the full operation of these facilities. Mahbub also inspected the parking garage under construction and ordered its swift completion. He stressed the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery and affirmed that all necessary resources would be provided to improve the hospital’s performance and provide patients with the best medical facilities. The new emergency department will significantly expand PIMS’s capacity to handle critical medical cases and provide timely care to patients in need. It is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize and enhance healthcare infrastructure across Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Regulation has directed the administration of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) to ensure that the new emergency department is ready by December 2024.

Federal Minister of State for Health Nadeem Mahbub gave these guidelines during his visit to the new 200-bed emergency department under construction at the PIMS hospital here on Saturday.

During his visit, he directed the team to accelerate the pace of work to complete the project by December, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said.

Mahbub also visited the newly constructed modular operating theatre and noted that it has been built to international standards and is on modern lines. He announced that it will be opened soon.

He also gave a tour of the children’s hospital and indicated that they needed to further improve the health care facilities.

He also visited the Mother and Child Hospital, which is being built in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and directed the PIMS director to ensure that it becomes fully operational.

He also inspected the parking garage currently under construction and ordered it to be completed as soon as possible.

Mahbub stressed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery and said, “We will leave no stone unturned in providing facilities to the public.”

He assured that effective measures are being taken to improve the hospital’s performance and all resources will be deployed to provide the best medical facilities to the patients.
