A woman who was bathing nearby witnessed the children’s desperate struggle and attempted to rescue them, but she also found herself in danger. Local authorities were alerted, and police officers swiftly arrived at the scene. They managed to save four children and the woman, but the four remaining children remained missing. A massive search and rescue operation was launched, involving divers and a large police force. Three of the missing children were later found deceased, while the fourth was found in critical condition. Despite being rushed to a hospital, the injured child succumbed to their injuries. ACP Sukanya Sharma, who led the investigation, reported that the pond was utilized for rainwater harvesting. The Agra police have initiated legal proceedings in connection with the incident. When the information came in, a large police force arrived at the scene along with ACP Sukanya Sharma and started a rescue operation with the help of divers.

Three of the missing children were found dead and one was in critical condition. Despite being taken to hospital, the seriously injured child did not survive.

Sharma gave an update on the ongoing investigation and noted that the pond was being used for harvesting rainwater. The Agra police are taking necessary legal proceedings in the case.

The children’s bodies have been sent for autopsy.
