Initial investigations revealed that the short circuit occurred when workers switched on the air conditioning in the morning. Nature of Fire The fire caused thick smoke due to the presence of food packaging materials, including plastic, inside the building. Firefighters used breathing apparatus to enter the building. Absence of Casualties Thankfully, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. Noida: A fire broke out in a three-storey building of a food packaging company in Noida’s Phase 1 area on Friday morning. The fire broke out due to a short circuit in an air-conditioning unit, fire and rescue personnel said. No one was injured in the incident.

According to the fire brigade, it took about three fire engines to completely extinguish the flames.

Firefighters broke windows in the building to ventilate the area, they said.
“On Friday around 10.40 am, the fire control room received information from the locals that a fire had broken out in a three-storey building in Block B, Sector 10 in Phase 1,” said Pradeep Kumar Chaubey, Chief Fire Officer (CFO), Gautam Budh Nagar.
“Three fire engines from surrounding fire stations were rushed to the scene… The fire was contained to the first floor by the firefighters,” the CFO said, adding that a preliminary investigation revealed that in the morning when workers arrived at the factory and turned on the air conditioning, a short circuit occurred, causing the fire. All workers immediately evacuated the building.

He said that because food packaging such as plastic was stored in the building, the fire caused thick smoke that filled the entire building. Firefighters used breathing apparatus to enter the building, the officer added.
