A Guwahati forest ranger has confirmed the incident and said that a team has been sent to the scene. The ranger also noted that the attack occurred near a forest area and that the leopard may have entered the city in search of food or shelter. The recent attack has raised concerns about the safety of residents living in areas near forests. The Guwahati Forest Department is urging residents to be cautious and to report any sightings of leopards or other wild animals to the authorities immediately. This is the second leopard attack reported in Guwahati in recent months. In May, a leopard attacked and injured a four-year-old boy in the Dispur area of the city. The boy was taken to hospital for treatment and is now recovering from his injuries. The increasing frequency of leopard attacks in Guwahati highlights the need for proper wildlife management and conservation measures. Local authorities and residents must work together to address this issue and ensure the safety of both humans and wildlife.
