In accordance with the CAF Club Licensing Regulatory Framework, the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially released the list of women’s football clubs licensed and eligible to participate in the 2024 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Ahead of the official draw for the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers taking place on Wednesday, 24 July at CAF headquarters in Cairo, the list of 38 women’s football clubs that have successfully completed and met all the requirements of the CAF Club Licensing System has been officially announced.

Before a license is granted, the following elements are taken into consideration at each club: SportingInfrastructure, Human Resources and Administration, Legal and Financial. This is part of CAF’s main objective to improve the administrative standard of club football in Africa.

For the club licences for the 2024/25 cycle, CAF has consolidated the use of the CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP). This has also been made mandatory for all CAF member associations to process applications from clubs planning to participate in the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The CAF Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP) is an electronic tool designed to manage the licensing process and stadium inspections for continental and national competitions.

For the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League season, 38 clubs have completed the CLOP process and qualified to participate in the competition’s qualifying matches.

In line with the framework for CAF Interclub competitions, CAF also confirmed earlier this month the successful implementation of the mandatory club licensing system for the CAF Interclub Men’s competitions in both the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.
