Early Life and Military Service Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 11, 1947, Edwin was the son of Edwin and Nellie Stalford Stillman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Career and Family After his military service, Edwin pursued a fulfilling career as a tool and die maker in the Pennsylvania area for 68 years. He relocated to Mooresville eight years ago to be closer to his family. Edwin was a loving husband to Amy Leopold Stillman, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage. He was also a devoted father to Edwin Stillman (Victoria), David Stillman (Brendon), and Michael Stillman (Mindy). His grandchildren, Samantha, Joshua, Madelyn, Trevor, and Alex, brought him immeasurable joy. Interests and Passions Edwin enjoyed a variety of activities, including boating, watching Phillies games, and cheering on his grandchildren in their sports endeavors. His family and dogs held a special place in his heart. Memorial Service and Legacy A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. Edwin will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his patriotism, and his passion for his hobbies. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was born on September 11, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edwin and Nellie Stalford Stillman. Mr. Stillman was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He lived in the Pennsylvania area for 68 years before moving to Mooresville eight years ago to be closer to his family. He had a very fulfilling career as a tool and die maker. He was a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. Edwin enjoyed boating, watching the Phillies, and watching his grandchildren play sports; he was very passionate about his family and his dogs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Hobbs.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Amy Leopold Stillman; his sons Edwin Stillman (Victoria), David Stillman (Brendon), and Michael Stillman (Mindy); and his grandchildren Samantha, Joshua, Madelyn, Trevor, and Alex.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Prospect Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Will Gipe officiating.
