Last month, as the end of the My Hero Academy manga, Horikoshi posted a heartwarming message to fans. You can read it below:
“You might be thinking, “What? Five more chapters?” or “Only five more to go?”, but we’ll do our best to make the next five chapters fun for the fans, Deku, and everyone!
It’s been a bit bumpy at times, but thanks to all of you who kept reading the series, I’ve been able to draw Deku and the others for almost 10 years.
It was nothing more than a dream. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
And with that, I’ll see you again in the next issue of Jump!”
If you’re stuck at My Hero Academy For now, you have one chapter left. Chances are you’ll make it to the end, but just in case, Horikoshi gave fans an extra message. In a recent interview with Viz Media, which licenses the series for English-language release in North America, Horikoshi gave a sneak peek at the upcoming finale:
We are in the final stages of serializing the manga. There are only a few chapters left, but I want to make sure that the readers will find it worth reading until the end. Your hard but warm support keeps me going, so please continue reading!
While the story itself is building up to a pretty exciting finale, it almost feels like the manga is ending rather quietly. We’re talking about a 10 year journey that’s coming to an end in just one week. I expect we’ll get at least one more commemorative artwork from Horikoshi before the finale, and maybe a final statement.
Sadly, it looks like that’s it for My Hero Academia. While the anime is still ongoing and we’re getting a new movie soon, Horikoshi has already stated that he has no plans for future spin-offs or sequels.
