Symphony on the Green Every Wednesday evening from June 7 to July 26, the SSO will take to the picturesque Forsyth Park for its beloved “Symphony on the Green” concerts. Guests can relax on blankets and lawn chairs while enjoying the orchestra’s vibrant performances. This year’s lineup boasts: * June 7: “Tchaikovsky Extravaganza” * June 14: “Movie Magic” * June 21: “Pops & Patriotic” * June 28: “ABBA Symphony” * July 5: “Fourth of July Celebration” * July 12: “Broadway in the Park” * July 19: “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (movie screening with live orchestra) * July 26: “Grand Finale” Pops in the Park On select Friday evenings, the SSO will present its “Pops in the Park” series at Forsyth Park. These concerts feature popular music and Broadway favorites. The schedule includes: * June 23: “Billy Joel Tribute” * July 14: “American Classics” Coastal Empire Jazz Festival From July 28 to 30, the SSO will host the Coastal Empire Jazz Festival at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. This three-day festival showcases renowned jazz musicians and vocalists. Chamber Music in the Cloister On the first three Sundays of July, the SSO will perform intimate chamber music concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist’s Cloister Garden. These concerts feature a variety of classical and contemporary works for smaller ensembles.
