The exhibition showcases over 250 works from Warhol’s entire career, spanning from his early commercial illustrations to his iconic silkscreens. It includes rare photographs, personal artifacts, and newly discovered works that have never been publicly displayed before. One of the highlights of the exhibition is “The 100 Cans,” a seminal work from 1962 that consists of 100 stacked Campbell’s Soup cans. This iconic representation of mass consumerism and mass production challenged traditional notions of fine art. Another significant piece is “Self-Portrait, 1963,” a silkscreen print that captures Warhol’s enigmatic gaze and celebrity status. The exhibition also features Warhol’s famous portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Mao Zedong, and Elizabeth Taylor, showcasing his fascination with fame and the cult of celebrity. “Andy Warhol: Hidden in Plain Sight” goes beyond Warhol’s artistic output to delve into his personal life and cultural influences.
