Key improvements include: * New Playground: A modern and accessible playground with interactive play equipment, including a zip line, climbing structures, and sensory play areas. * Renovated Dog Park: Expanded and improved with separate areas for small and large dogs, benches, and shaded areas. * Multipurpose Courts: Two new courts for basketball, pickleball, and other sports, providing recreation opportunities for all ages. * Walking Trails: Refurbished and extended walking paths, offering scenic views of the park’s natural landscapes. * Improved Lighting: Enhanced lighting throughout the park for safety and evening use. * Sustainability Features: Installation of drought-tolerant landscaping and LED lighting to reduce energy consumption. “Lubber Run Park is a vital public space that brings our community together,” said Arlington County Board Member Matt de Ferranti. “These upgrades will ensure that the park continues to be a vibrant and accessible place for generations to come.” The project was funded through a combination of county funds and grant support.
