The mother of a defenseless NHS worker raped and killed by a predator on a park bench has spoken of her “absolute contempt” for him after he showed “no remorse”.
Cas Shotter Weetman said she was not afraid to meet Mohamed Iidow’s gaze as a jury convicted him of rape and murder at the Old Bailey on Friday.
Iidow repeatedly sexually assaulted her 37-year-old daughter Natalie Shotter after she collapsed after a night out in Southall Park, west London.

Dr Shotter Weetman, an NHS cardiologist, said she was “over the moon” that “justice had been served” after a “completely unbearable” trial.
She said: “I mostly looked at him wherever I could. I was more than happy to meet his gaze and I wasn’t afraid at all.
“But of course there was a sense of absolute contempt for him because he showed no remorse.”
Dr Shotter Weetman said society should confront the “horrific” violence against women, saying many women cannot walk freely and feel safe.
She continued: “We need to change our thinking about how we behave.
“There are people who continue to behave in very deviant and appalling ways and think they can get away with it.”
Dr. Shotter Weetman also paid tribute to her daughter, saying she was a “beautiful soul” and “the nicest girl” who had the ability to help others.
She also called her daughter a “great mom” to her three children, ages five to 19.

Mrs Shotter’s children paid tribute to their mother in a tree on the grounds of West Middlesex University Hospital.
Dr. Shotter Weetman said: “We kept as many of her characters alive in our heads and hearts as possible.
“Talking about her with kids brings up so many memories of Nat.”
Iidow was roaming Southall Park looking for a vulnerable woman to rape on the night of the attack in July 2021, prosecutor Alison Morgan KC said.
His attack on the unconscious Mrs. Shotter resulted in her death from a heart attack.
Iidow, 35, formerly of Hounslow, west London, denied the allegations against him but did not give evidence.
Following his conviction, he was remanded in custody and is scheduled to be sentenced on December 13.
