NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) – One woman was injured and two cats were rescued from a fire that broke out Saturday morning.
The New Haven Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a building on Haven Street early Saturday morning.
The commander said he found a heavy fire in the basement and on the first floor. They began an aggressive attack and search.
One person was taken to hospital due to smoke inhalation and hand burns. They did not reveal her identity.
Two cats were also rescued from the building.
The New Haven Fire Department added that no crew members were injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
