In a follow-up question, Jordan asked for “assurance that the flood warning system will actually work in the fall and winter.”
He said the road was “flooded and there were no warning signs” on Wednesday.
Jordan described it as “probably the most closed road in the county.”
Sinnett said: “If there are problems with the system, we need to solve them.
“Members of the public need to be confident that everything is working to the best of their ability.”
Thomas told councilors that despite regular discussions with the council considering switching suppliers, there had been difficulties with the sign supplier.
“It’s not something we left to lies; there should be full commitment to officers trying to fix it,” he said.
