With Arizona poised to be a key swing state in the 2024 election, Ali Velshi hit the road and traveled to Phoenix to meet with six local voters across the party line. Among the many issues discussed in their wide-ranging conversation was the often dark and cruel tone of American politics today. “There is a rush to tribalism in everything,” says AZ voter Jeremy Helfgot. “It’s almost like a sports fandom where people can’t even clearly articulate why they hold the views they do… we’ll run to where our side is, even if we don’t really have an understanding of the topic at hand.”October 20, 2024
