She pointed out that India had risen from 11th to the fifth largest economy globally. “Despite challenges such as the pandemic and global conflicts, India has managed to achieve this growth rate,” President Murmu said. “This is due to the reforms and decisions taken in the national interest over the last decade.” The Upcoming Budget: A ‘Futuristic Vision’ President Murmu also discussed her expectations for the upcoming Union Budget. She stated that it would be an “effective document” outlining the government’s far-reaching policies and futuristic vision. “This budget will witness many historic steps,” she added. Stability and Confidence in the Government The President emphasized that the results of the recent elections demonstrated the continued public confidence in the government. She noted that a stable government with a full majority had been elected for the third consecutive time in six decades. “People have shown confidence in this government for the third time,” President Murmu said. “They understand that only this government can fulfill their aspirations.” Appreciation for the Election Commission of India President Murmu expressed gratitude to the Election Commission of India for conducting transparent elections in the country. She highlighted the record-breaking voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir and the robust response to the abrogation of Article 370. Historic Lok Sabha President Murmu also drew attention to the significance of the 18th Lok Sabha, which began during the early years of the “Amrit Kaal” and will witness the 56th anniversary of the adoption of India’s Constitution. Vice President’s Speech The President’s address was followed by a speech from the country’s Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar.

While delivering a stirring speech at the joint session of Parliament, President Droupadi Murmu hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for taking the country’s economy to new heights.
President Murmu emphasized that the NDA government’s “commitment to reform, deliver and transform” has made India the fastest growing economy in the world. While addressing the parliamentarian a month after the election results were announced, President Murmu pointed out how India has risen from 11th to the fifth largest economy in the world.
“Despite a pandemic and conflicts in different parts of the world, India has managed to achieve this growth rate,” President Murmu said. “This has been possible due to the reforms and decisions taken in the national interest over the last decade. Today, India contributes to 15% of global growth,” she added, stressing that her government is working to make India the third largest economy in the world.
The budget will reflect a ‘futuristic vision’: the President
During her speech, the President also expressed her hopes for the upcoming Union Budget. “This government is going to present the first budget of this term,” she said at the joint meeting.
“This budget will be an effective document of the government’s far-reaching policies and futuristic vision. In addition to major economic and social decisions, this budget will also see many historic steps,” she added.
The President stated that the results of this year’s elections showed that people still have confidence in the government and that is why they came to power for the third time. “After sixty years, a stable government with a full majority has been formed in the country. People have shown confidence in this government for the third time. People are aware that only this government can fulfill their aspirations,” President Murmu explained.
She also explained what makes the 18th Lok Sabha so special. “The 18th Lok Sabha is a historic Lok Sabha in many ways. This Lok Sabha was formed in the early years of the Amrit Kaal,” the President noted. This Lok Sabha will also witness the 56th year of the adoption of the country’s Constitution,” she added.
President Murmu praised the Election Commission of India
While addressing the joint session, the President also took time to express his gratitude to the Election Commission of India for organizing transparent elections in the country.
“On behalf of millions of my countrymen, I would like to express my gratitude to the Election Commission of India. These were the largest elections in the world… Decades of voting records were broken in J&K,” she said. President Murmu also called out the negative views circulating in the international arena over the abrogation of Article 370. “India’s enemies promoted this in international forums as the Kashmir view. But this time, Kashmir Valley gave a befitting response to all these forces,” she added.
President Murmur’s speech was followed by the speech of the country’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
