The DMT encouraged shopping mall administrations to provide facilities such as seating, water coolers, and mobile phone charging stations within these rest areas. Additionally, these rest areas are conveniently located near pickup and drop-off points for easy access by delivery personnel. To further support their well-being, the Joint Committee issued parking permits for four buses designated as temporary rest areas in key areas like Khalifa City and Al Ain City. Moreover, the Committee is working to establish permanent rest areas in strategic locations across Abu Dhabi. These initiatives are part of the Joint Traffic Safety Committee’s ongoing efforts to reduce road traffic accidents and injuries. By providing designated rest areas for delivery drivers, the Committee aims to improve their working conditions and enhance overall road safety.

The DMT, represented by Abu Dhabi Mobility, encouraged the administrations of shopping centers in the emirate to improve the working conditions of delivery personnel during the scorching summer months.
Mall managers are also urged to provide seating, water coolers and mobile phone charging stations and ensure that these rest areas are easily accessible to delivery personnel by placing them near commonly used pick-up and drop-off points.
The Joint Committee’s initiatives build on efforts to issue parking permits for four buses designated as temporary rest areas for drivers in Khalifa City, Shamkhah, Al Wathbah and Al Ain City.
In addition, permanent rest areas will be established at four carefully selected locations on Abu Dhabi Island, Khalifa City and Shakhbout City.
The Joint Traffic Safety Committee works to reduce road traffic accidents and injuries through various measures, including implementing modern traffic systems, promoting safe driving practices through awareness campaigns and fostering collaboration with various community groups.
