The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning and added three more in the third to take a 5-0 lead. Branford scored two runs in the bottom of the third, but Trenton held on for the victory. Trenton pitcher Madison Reynolds allowed just two hits and two walks while striking out 10 batters. At the plate, Trenton was led by Kaitlyn Burke, who went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. This is Trenton’s first state championship in softball. The Tigers finished the season with a 27-3 record.
