The actress made her last Hindi film in 1960 when she married film director SD Narang. As her funeral takes place today, actress Anju Mahendru talks about her. She told Etimes, “Her married life started very well when she married SD Narang but the ending was not good, there was no money. Both the sons could not look after the property, they did not get any advice from us.”
She added, “Narang saab had properties all over India. He had a huge bungalow at JVPD with a swimming pool, but they signed blank contracts and now everything is gone. I would keep telling them that if you do anything, you should ask me. It is better to give money to lawyers than to lose money. Now they are staying in one room which is also their elder sister’s house, close to Nashik.”
Mahendru revealed some more shocking details as she added, “Today the funeral is on and they all sent money because there was no money for the funeral. They have lovely people like Shivendra Dungapur, Vashu Shroff who has a temple trust in Nashik. They keep sending them money. She was not in her right mind because she was 100. But this is a tragic ending.”
Anju reveals the last time she spoke to Biswas. “I spoke to her in February on her birthday. She wasn’t really there and just kept calling me Anju Anju. One thing I have to say is that if you invest well, you can live till you are 100. So you need to have that kind of income.”
