The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) had previously announced the introduction of new textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 from the 2024-25 academic year. However, the delivery of Class 6 textbooks has not yet taken place. According to a senior official from the Ministry of Education, nine textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 are currently available, with the remaining eight expected to be released shortly. The official emphasized that the work on developing the textbooks is in its final stages. The NCF aims to enhance the quality and relevance of education in India by promoting critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. The new textbooks are designed to align with these principles, providing students with engaging and interactive content that supports their learning journey.

New Delhi: Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday discussed the development of textbooks in line with the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) at a meeting in Delhi.

The meeting took place against the backdrop of a delay in the delivery of the textbooks for class 6. These books were to be taught from April and have still not been released.

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) had earlier announced that new textbooks for classes 3 and 6 will be introduced from the 2024-25 academic year.

“New and engaging textbooks will be introduced in grades 3 and 6 for the 2024-2025 school year. The work on developing textbooks is in its final stages and nine textbooks for grades 3 and 6 are already available. The remaining eight will be available very soon,” said a senior official from the Ministry of Education (MoE).
