KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — A man’s handphone was snatched by a thief while he was walking near Pasar Seni here yesterday. The 29-year-old victim was walking along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock at around 9.30am when the incident occurred. According to the victim, he was approached by a man on a motorcycle who snatched his handphone from his hand and sped away. KUALA LUMPUR: A man had his handphone snatched by two men on a motorcycle near Pasar Seni here today. Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Noor Dellhan Yahaya said the 26-year-old victim was walking along Jalan Tun Perak when the incident occurred at 12.30pm. “The victim, who works as a warehouse assistant, was on his way to the LRT station when two men on a motorcycle stopped beside him and snatched his handphone,” he said in a statement today. Noor Dellhan said the suspects, who were both wearing helmets, then sped off towards Lebuh Ampang. He said the victim suffered a minor injury to his arm during the incident and sought treatment at a nearby clinic. “The victim has lodged a police report and police are investigating the case under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery,” he said, adding that efforts are underway to track down the suspects.

According to the victim, he was approached from behind by two men on a motorcycle. One of the men snatched the victim’s handphone from his hand and sped off. The victim tried to chase the snatchers but they managed to escape. He lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi police station. Police are investigating the case.
