Welcome to Prescription for Healthcare, a podcast collaboration between WFHB Local News and Medicare for All Indiana, airing the second Thursday of each month as part of the local news at 5:15 p.m. This month, we interview Dr. Claudia Fegan, Chief Medical Officer of Cook County Health in Chicago and National Coordinator for Physicians for a National Health Program. Dr. Fegan has appeared on national television and radio programs and testified before congressional committees on various healthcare issues. In this episode, we discuss EMTALA, the federal “Anti-Dumping” law of 1986, and how it is in the news today for its restrictions on abortion care in some states.
