The victim, identified as Vaishali Shinde, was walking on the side of the road when she was hit from behind by a speeding white car. Graphic CCTV Footage Surveillance footage captured the horrifying incident. The victim was thrown into the air and landed about 15-20 meters away. Two men standing nearby attempted to save Shinde but were unsuccessful. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Driver Fled and Arrests Made The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident, which occurred around 5:00 PM in the Gangapur area. Police have arrested two people in connection with the incident. Similar Incident in Mumbai This incident comes just days after a similar hit-and-run in Mumbai, where a BMW driver allegedly rammed into a two-wheeler, killing the pillion passenger and injuring the driver. The driver, identified as Mihir Shah, was later arrested. Concerns Over Hit-and-Run Accidents These recent incidents have raised concerns about the rising number of hit-and-run accidents in Maharashtra. Police officials have urged citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or activities. They are also investigating whether the two incidents are linked or if there is a larger pattern at play.
In another shocking hit-and-run from Maharashtra, a young woman was run over by a speeding car in Nashik on Tuesday. The victim was thrown into the air and about 15-20 metres after the white car hit her from behind, as seen in the CCTV footage.
The chilling footage of the incident also showed two men standing on the same side of the road trying to save the woman, Vaishali Shinde, from being hit but in vain. They can be seen running towards her after the horrific crash. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver fled after the accident, which took place around 5:00 PM in the Gangapur area. Police have arrested two people.
The incident took place three days after a BMW driven by Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah’s son Mihir rammed into a two-wheeler from behind in Mumbai’s Worli area on Sunday morning, killing Kaveri Nakhwa (45), who was a pillion passenger. Her husband Pradeep survived with injuries.
According to police, Kaveri Nakhwa was dragged for about 1.5 kilometres by the speeding car, after which Mihir pulled over the car, swapped his driver’s seat and fled in another vehicle.
