Artists Welcome All Day
Artists are invited to come and paint throughout the day, from 10am to 5pm. Interested artists can contact Indiana Heritage Arts for more information.
Evening Reception with Tickets
From 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, an evening reception will be held with food, wine, music, and a wet paint art sale. Tickets are $45 per person and include access to the main structure of the site (The House of the Singing Winds) and the formal gardens during the reception.
TC Steele State Historic Site
The annual fundraising event, sponsored by Indiana Heritage Arts and the Brown County Art Gallery, offers visitors the opportunity to witness several Indiana Heritage Arts painters working en plein air (outside).
Selma’s Formal Gardens
Of particular interest will be the formal gardens created by TC Steele’s second wife, Selma Neubacher Steele.
Heirloom Plants in the Garden
The formal garden features various heirloom plants, with cultivars developed before 1945, the year of Selma’s death. Famous original plants include peonies.
Art for Sale in Steele’s Large Studio
The evening reception will include a wet paint sale in the main studio, featuring paintings created throughout the day.
