MILWAUKEE — One person has died after a Columbus, Ohio, police officer helping with security at the Republican National Convention shot and killed a suspicious person near the GOP event headquarters.
A witness at the scene told The Post that the man was carrying two knives and waved them at police just before the fatal shooting.

The victim’s brother told The Post that the man was homeless.
It comes just three days after former President Donald Trump was nearly killed in a shooting on Saturday, and a heavy police presence has been at the RNC all week.
