“The ICC program was an invaluable educational opportunity for me, and I have many fond memories of working as a medical student at Red Deer Hospital,” says Dr. Mitic.

When Mitic is not working, he enjoys yoga, cooking, cycling, hiking and skiing.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) says it is continuing its efforts to recruit physicians in the central zone to meet the needs of the community. AHS says it has medical resource planners dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They are working with various community partners and organizations, such as the Rural Health Professions Action Plan and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
