FC-IQ

EA FC 25 brings a much-needed tactical overhaul to the series, with Player Roles and Team Tactics being added to the game in favor of Work Rates and Player Instructions. It all falls under the banner of FC IQ, and while it’s present in all game modes, the premise is most suited to Career Mode.

The new system allows you to create custom tactical formations more effectively by assigning different roles to players. If you want to play a standard 4-3-3 with your CDM dropping into defence, you can assign them the Centre Half Player role. Similarly, you can ask your midfielders to play further forward, like Advanced 8s, using the Half-Winger role.

You’ll inherit the various stats, PlayStyles, and Player Roles assigned to these legends and write history using these stats at a club of your choice. It remains to be seen whether the developers will introduce Icon Career-specific features to differentiate it from a standard Player Career Mode save.
