Priority on Patient Comfort Arora emphasized the importance of completing the development work swiftly without inconveniencing patients or staff. He stressed the need for a clean and hygienic environment in the hospital complex. Funds Allocation and Development Plans Under the Parliament’s Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD), funds will be prioritized for pavement installation, rainwater harvesting, road resurfacing, boundary wall construction, streetlight installation, air conditioning, and signage. Pest Control and Security Measures To address the issue of rat infestation at the Mother and Child Hospital, Arora stated that the hospital had been successfully disinfested by a professional company. He also ordered the installation of a 2.13-meter separation wall with rough glass to enhance security. Lift Operations and Infrastructure Improvements One of the two closed lifts is expected to resume operation by the following Monday, with the second to be operational within 7-10 days. All toilets are being renovated with tiles installed up to a height of 5 feet. Doors and windows throughout the hospital are also being repaired or replaced. PSPCL Issues Arora was informed about issues related to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). He pledged to raise these concerns at the appropriate level.

Arora stressed that the development work should be completed on priority basis without causing any trouble to the patients and hospital staff. He added that he wants the hospital complex to be completely neat and clean and there should be complete hygienic conditions.

He said that from the funds already allocated for the Parliament’s Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD), priority will be given to laying pavement where necessary, rainwater harvesting, resurfacing of roads, construction of boundary wall, installation of street lights, air conditioners and signage in the hospital complex.
On the issue of rat infestation at the Mother and Child Hospital, the MP said a few months ago that complete eradication of rodents in the hospital had been achieved in the last 10-12 weeks by a professional company appointed by him.

He also ordered that the minimum height of the separation wall be kept at 2.13 meters to prevent thefts on the hospital premises. He also ordered that rough glass be placed on the separation walls as a security measure.
Arora also enquired about the progress of work to make lifts operational. Of the two existing lifts, which have been closed for the past 12 years, one will be operational by next Monday and the second will be operational in 7-10 days.
Speaking on the issue of damaged toilets in the hospitals, he said that all toilets are being renovated and tiles are being installed on all walls up to a height of 5′. Doors and windows throughout the hospital are being renovated/replaced as required.

Arora was also apprised of some issues regarding Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). He assured that he would take up the issue at the competent authority level.
