Chelsea Receive Update on Dani Olmo TransferChelsea Receive Update on Dani Olmo Transfer Chelsea has received an update on the potential transfer of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose. Olmo has been linked with a move away from the German club following his impressive performances for Spain at Euro 2024. Rose stated that he is “optimistic” about keeping Olmo in Leipzig, emphasizing the player’s desire to remain with the club due to its positive environment and progress. However, Rose acknowledged that Olmo has a £58 million release clause in his contract, which could potentially lead to his departure. Olmo himself has hinted at the possibility of leaving Leipzig, expressing his desire to be appreciated and loved in a club with an ambitious project and the ability to win titles. He stated that he has not yet made a decision but is open to exploring different options. Chelsea is reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Olmo, who has impressed with his creativity, dribbling skills, and attacking abilities. The Blues are said to be keen on bolstering their attacking options during the summer transfer window. However, RB Leipzig’s stance and Olmo’s own preferences will ultimately determine the outcome of the transfer saga. Rose’s optimism suggests that Leipzig is not keen on losing the player, but the release clause could prove to be a decisive factor.
CHELSEA have received an update on the transfer of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose.
There has been much speculation over the past month about Dani Olmo’s future following his impressive performances at Euro 2024 for Spain, in which he scored three times for the Spaniards.
Some of the biggest and best clubs in the sport have reportedly shown interest in attempting to strike a transfer deal for the Spaniard, who has a £58million buyout clause in his current contract.
“I am still optimistic that we can definitely keep our top players here, because they also want to stay here, because they know what they have in Leipzig, because they have made good progress here,” the head coach said on Friday after the 1-0 friendly win against SV Babelsberg.
Asked about the Spain international’s specific release clause, he added: “I’m super relaxed about it, I can’t change it anyway. We’ll know tomorrow, but I’ll sleep peacefully. Again, we have a good team. We’ll have a good team again.
“We have ideas about how we can maybe compensate for things. And if tomorrow is the end of the day and still nothing has happened, then the coach is happy.”
Olmo, 26, recently told reporters: “We’ll see. Yesterday we celebrated all day and now I’m on campus. The people who deal with that (transfer market) already know what I want to do. I don’t know if I’ll stay in Germany, we’ll see. I want to be somewhere where I’m appreciated and loved and what I want to do is win. There are different options, we’ll see what happens.
“The truth is that between the EC, the celebration and the campus, I didn’t see much of it. What I want is an ambitious project and I want to win titles.”
