The end of an era is almost in sight.
Billy Joel concludes his historic 10-year residency at Madison Square Garden on Thursday. This is the Piano Man’s 150th performance here, marking the venue’s biggest arena run of all time.
The New York native performed his first concert at Madison Square Garden on December 24, 1978. In January 2014, Billy Joel began his record-breaking residency at the Garden, playing one show each month. Just a year later, he broke his own record for “most consecutive performances by an artist” during the 13th show of his residency.

“I’m going to miss it so much,” he told USA Today in April. “I love it. The band loves it. The crowd is a New York-crazy crowd. The minute you walk onstage, you know they’re rooting for you. The only way to ruin that performance is to try to ruin it.”
Are there still Billy Joel tickets available for Thursday’s MSG show?
Although there are only four days left until his final show, you still have a chance to get tickets to his final performance at the Garden. Given the historic nature of the show, however, you can expect to pay a pretty penny for your seats.
Tickets are currently available starting at $575 on StubHub, $523 on SeatGeek and $477 on Vivid Seats. Resale tickets are also available on Ticketmaster for various prices.
And if you can’t attend his final show in person, it will air exclusively — not live — on SiriusXM’s The Billy Joel Channel (79).
