The Georgia Bulldogs haven’t finished outside of the top three in recruiting in nearly a decade under head coach Kirby Smart. Since he took over the helm of this program, he’s recruited at an unprecedented pace. It’s five-star after five-star becoming first-round pick after first-round pick. It’s perhaps the biggest contributing factor to his success, because without great players, it’s hard to have a great team. Two national titles would make for a pretty great program.
The recruiting class of 2025 looks no different as we enter the closing hours of this recruiting cycle. With less than six months until signing day, let’s take a look at the offensive commitments thus far.
Quarterback
Georgia got the guy it seemed most wanted to be a Bulldog in Ryan Montgomery. He was one of the top three targets in the class with Matt Zollers and Julian Lewis. The latter would have cost Georgia not only a significant investment of resources, but also time. Lewis is still committed to USC, and it’s no secret that Missouri has made moves to land Zollers.
Running back
Believe it or not, the University of Georgia could easily be done with running back in this class by their standards. Bo Walker is the only commit, I know, shocking considering the speed at which they have recruited the position. However, Ousmane Kromah appears to be the only player they are recruiting at this point in the cycle.
Wide receiver/tight end
This is where the offensive staff has clearly put their foot on the gas pedal. Let’s start with tight ends Elyss Williams and Ethan Barbour. Simply put, there is no duo in college football recruiting as dynamic and uniquely talented as these two and if they stay in the class, it would be a kudos to Todd Hartley to say the least. Wide receiver is a position they are clearly investing a lot of money in. They already have four commits (Talyn Taylor, Thomas Blackshear, Landon Roldan, and Tyler Williams). They are still in the hunt for CJ Wiley out of Milton High School, despite his commitment to FSU.
Offensive line
The Great Wall of Georgia looks to get even bigger, if that’s even possible, and they’ve done it from within the state. Cortez Smith, Dontrell Glover, and Mason Short are some of the state’s best products, and they’re Dawgs. If Stacy Searels can land OT Juan Gaston and OT Damola Ajidahun, that’s five quality college football players from the state of Georgia alone.
