The program, aptly named “Symphony in Residence,” will bring world-class musicians and educators from the TSO directly into schools, community centers, and other venues. “We are thrilled to embark on this transformative program,” said Ron Spigelman, President and CEO of the TSO. “Symphony in Residence will provide equitable access to the transformative power of music to students and communities who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.” The residency program features three distinct components: 1. School Residencies: TSO musicians will embed themselves in classrooms for extended periods, working alongside teachers to develop engaging and interactive music education experiences. Students will have hands-on learning opportunities with instruments, improvisation, and composition. 2. Community Residencies: TSO musicians will lead workshops, masterclasses, and performances at community centers, libraries, and other neighborhood venues. These programs will foster a sense of musical community and provide opportunities for local artists and enthusiasts to connect with the TSO. 3. Tulsa Creative Center: The TSO will partner with the Tulsa Creative Center to provide a dedicated space for residency programs and rehearsals. This hub will serve as a gathering place for musicians, educators, and community members, fostering collaboration and creativity. “Symphony in Residence is more than just a program—it’s an investment in the future of Tulsa,” said Mayor G.T.
