Roseville City Council Approves New Dog Park at Central ParkRoseville City Council Approves New Dog Park at Central Park In a unanimous vote, the Roseville City Council has approved the construction of a new dog park at Central Park. The park, which is expected to open in the spring of 2024, will be located on the southeast corner of the park, adjacent to the existing soccer fields. The new dog park will feature two separate fenced-in areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Each area will have its own water fountain, shade structures, and agility equipment. The park will also be landscaped with drought-tolerant plants and trees. “This new dog park is a great addition to Central Park and will provide a safe and fun place for our residents to bring their dogs,” said Mayor Krista Bernasconi. “Dogs are a part of our families, and this new park will give them a place to socialize, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors.” The construction of the dog park will be funded by the City of Roseville’s Park Development Impact Fee program. The program collects fees from new residential and commercial development to fund park improvements. The Roseville Parks and Recreation Department is currently working on the final design of the dog park. Once the design is complete, the project will be put out to bid. Construction is expected to begin in the fall of 2023. The new dog park is one of several improvements that are planned for Central Park. The city is also planning to add new playground equipment, picnic areas, and walking trails to the park. Central Park is located at 10500 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd. in Roseville. The park is open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
