The National Hurricane Center has issued a tropical storm warning for parts of Central Florida, including Orlando. Heavy rains, strong winds, and possible tornadoes are expected to impact the area. “We urge residents to be prepared for flooding and other hazardous weather conditions,” said Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. “Please take necessary precautions to protect yourselves and your property.” The city has activated its Emergency Operations Center and is monitoring the storm closely. Residents are advised to: * Stock up on essential supplies, such as food, water, and batteries. * Secure loose items outside homes and businesses. * Have an evacuation plan in place and identify a safe place to go if needed. * Avoid driving through flooded areas. * Stay informed about the storm and follow instructions from local officials. The Orange County School District has announced the closure of all schools for Thursday, June 9. Other organizations and businesses may also close or modify their hours of operation. Utility crews are on standby to respond to power outages.
