– Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı emphasized that consumers’ correct understanding of the food issue and their public scrutiny will prevent both resource loss and speculation. Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı, Deputy Ministers Prof. Dr. Ahmet Gümen, Abdulkadir Polat, and TGDF President Demir Şarman attended the ceremony held at the General Directorate of Forestry. The protocol, which aims to work together to prevent information pollution and increase nutritional literacy in the nutrition department in Turkey, was signed on behalf of the ministry by Dr. General Manager of Food and Inspection Ersin Dilber and Lider Şarman signed on behalf of TGDF. Speaking at the ceremony, Agriculture and Forestry Minister İbrahim Yumaklı talked about the importance of cooperation between producers, consumers, and the state in the field of food, which is developing rapidly every day. Stating that the most important issue here is nutritional literacy, Yumaklı underlined that the consumer himself is the biggest controller. Minister Yumaklı pointed out that it is the ministry’s duty to provide consumers with all kinds of things about which they can get accurate information or get real information. Minister Yumaklı said: “The fact that our consumers can read it correctly and exercise public control, and in this sense they can very clearly distinguish right from wrong, will prevent loss of resources.
