David Tennant and Jonathan Pryce Join Cast of ‘The Thursday Murder Club’ Acclaimed actors David Tennant and Jonathan Pryce have joined the cast of the highly anticipated film adaptation of Richard Osman’s best-selling novel, “The Thursday Murder Club.” The film, directed by Ol Parker (“Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”), tells the story of four elderly friends who live in a retirement village called Coopers Chase. When a wealthy developer is murdered, the group decides to investigate the crime themselves, forming the eponymous “Thursday Murder Club.” Tennant will portray the role of Chris, the ex-police officer who reluctantly joins the club at the request of his mother. Pryce will play his father, a retired psychiatrist with a sharp mind and a passion for solving puzzles. The cast also includes Helen Mirren, Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, and Gemma Arterton, who were previously announced as the four members of the Thursday Murder Club. Filming on “The Thursday Murder Club” is currently underway in England. The film is scheduled for release in 2023.
