According to the police, multiple gunmen opened fire from outside, striking the boys inside a home. The boys were in critical condition at Comer Children’s Hospital. Later that night at 11 p.m., a 22-year-old man riding his motorcycle in the 600 block of East 71st Street was shot multiple times by an occupant of a gray SUV. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition. At approximately 11:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot in the neck and head while sitting in his car in the 6500 block of South Western Avenue by someone in another vehicle. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in critical condition. Just after midnight, a 36-year-old woman was shot in the head in the 3000 block of South Avers Avenue and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition. Around 1 a.m. Thursday, a 34-year-old man was shot in the neck in the 6200 block of South Laflin Street and taken to the University of Chicago in critical condition. Lastly, around 3 a.m., officers discovered a 27-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head in the 1300 block of South Harding Avenue. The man claimed to have been attacked by an unknown person and was admitted to Mount Sinai in serious condition. No arrests have been made in connection with any of the shootings.
