Exclusive Dining Experience Coinciding with the “Gauguin’s World: Tōna Iho, Tōna Ao World” exhibition, Kitchen by Mike offers visitors an exceptional dining experience amidst one of Australia’s most prominent cultural institutions. Signature Style Chef and Owner Mike McEnearney’s signature style shines through at Kitchen by Mike. The menu features grilled and wood-fired meats, fresh fish, and seasonal vegetables. Homemade pies add a touch of indulgence. The focus is on wholefoods, sustainably sourced and guided by the seasons. All-Australian Delights The all-Australian beverage menu includes a curated selection of wines and beers, alongside specialty teas, coffee, cold-pressed juices, and soft drinks from local artisans. Inspired Location Kitchen by Mike finds its home on the NGA’s ground floor, offering scenic views of the Sculpture Garden and Lake Burley Griffin. The restaurant will have a permanent location announced in late 2024. Trippas White Group, the food and beverage partner of The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, has announced that Kitchen by Mike, the award-winning Sydney restaurant led by chef Mike McEnearney, will debut at the gallery this month.

The opening of the restaurant coincides with Gauguin’s world: Tōna Iho, Tōna Ao world exhibition, offering visitors to the nation’s capital a unique dining experience in one of Australia’s most famous cultural centres.

Reflecting McEnearney’s signature style, Kitchen by Mike at The National Gallery of Australia will offer a lunch menu of grilled and wood-fired meats and fish, served with signature salads and seasonal roasted vegetables, as well as homemade pies for dessert. With a focus on wholefoods, the menu will showcase the best of locally and responsibly sourced meats, seafood and produce, while always being guided by the seasons. Menu highlights include pot-roasted leg of lamb, avocado and heirloom tomato tartine, beetroot and fennel salad and cucumber and ginger salad.

The all-Australian drinks menu features a selection of wines and beers, alongside specialty teas from Apotheca by Anthia, coffee from Five Senses, cold-pressed juices from Nectar and soft drinks from Strangelove.

The restaurant is located on the NGA’s newly renovated, light-filled ground floor, overlooking the Sculpture Garden and Lake Burley Griffin. Trippas White Group will announce a permanent location for Kitchen by Mike at the National Gallery of Australia in late 2024.

Kitchen by Mike at The National Gallery of Australia is open from 11am to 4pm in July.
