Samsung Expands Green/Pink Line Screen Repair Program for Galaxy S Series in IndiaSamsung Expands Green/Pink Line Screen Repair Program for Galaxy S Series in India Samsung India has expanded its free screen repair program for Samsung Galaxy S Series smartphones experiencing a persistent green or pink line issue. The issue has been reported on Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra models. The program, which was initially available for a limited time, will now remain valid until September 30, 2024. Affected users who have purchased their devices within three years from the repair request date are eligible to receive a free screen replacement under the following conditions: * Eligible devices: Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy S22 Ultra * Free screen replacement: Labor costs and original purchase receipt are required Despite the official policy, some service centers may be reluctant to provide free replacements. Users may need to press their case by contacting Samsung customer care or expressing their concerns on social media. The green or pink line issue typically occurs when a phone is dropped, damaged, or impacted at a certain angle. However, some users have reported the issue appearing without any apparent damage, potentially after installing a software update. Samsung has yet to confirm whether the issue can manifest without physical damage. While the program provides a solution for affected users, it highlights a potential hardware or software issue that Samsung needs to address officially.
Some Samsung smartphone users have been facing the green line/pink line issue for the past 2-3 years. The South Korean company has not addressed the issue directly. Following an outcry on social media, Samsung India announced a few months ago that Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users with green line issues could get free screen repair.
Now the company has expanded that offering to more phones and for a longer period of time.
Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users in India experiencing green line issue are eligible for free screen repair
Samsung India Support confirmed to tipster Tarun Vats that the free screen replacement program has been extended. It is now available for Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S21 FE, and Galaxy S22 Ultra users. The period for this screen replacement program is valid till September 30, 2024. Also, these devices must have been purchased within three years from the date of the repair request.
Samsung also announced that the screen will be available for free, but users will have to pay for labor costs and provide the original purchase receipt.
Even with this screen replacement policy, some users in India might face issues as not all service centers are willing to replace the screen for free. Users might have to pressure them by calling up Samsung customer care and explaining their issue or posting about it on X (formerly Twitter).

A green or pink line may appear across the screen of some Samsung Galaxy phones. Such an issue usually occurs only if the phone has been dropped, damaged, or received an impact at a critical angle. However, in some cases, users claim that a green line has appeared on their phone’s screen without any damage or drop and that it appeared after installing a software update.
Samsung has not yet clarified whether a green line can appear without damaging the device.
